Enigma
A podcast exploring the emerging science of Machine (and Human) Consciousness
About the podcast
The goal of this podcast is to facilitate scientific discourse and cross-pollination of ideas within the community of machine consciousness research — to speed up the maturation of this field, and of our scientific understanding of consciousness.
Because we are moving much faster toward AGI than toward understanding what it will be.
The enigma
Do we need new physics to explain consciousness? Is it computational — something that can be uploaded, copied, cloned? Would that still be you?
Can we reprogram our minds and interface with machines as seamlessly as we do with our own bodies? Can AI ever be conscious? Should it be? Or will it only ever be a Golem — a perfect illusion, a false god in a machine?
Most importantly: how would we ever know?
Future interviews
My goal is to interview key researchers in AI, neuroscience, and physics working at this intersection — the emerging science of machine consciousness. Think David Chalmers, Anil Seth, Christof Koch, Karl Friston, Joscha Bach, as well as fresh and emerging researchers whose names you may not yet know.
